Schweinfurt is a beautiful city located in the German State of Bavaria. The Schweinfurt military community is comprised of soldiers primarily assigned to the 1st Infantry Division - "The Big Red One". The 2nd Brigade Combat Team, which consists of Infantry, Armor, Field Artillery, Engineer and Logistic battalions, and the 1st Squadron 4th Cavalry are the largest organizations within our footprint.
These units are located on 2 kasernes (Conn and Ledward Barracks) within the Schweinfurt city limits. The installations are also home to several support organizations, to include personnel, finance, medical and dental support, AAFES, DeCA, and DoDDS. In total, the Schweinfurt military community is home to over 12,000 soldiers, Department of the Army civilians, and family members.
